There are so many amazing title sequences. Ernest Shackleton's attempts at traversing the brutal landscape of Antarctica served as the inspiration for this piece. My main goals were to work on contrast in color and using mattes to reveal imagery.
I used footage of ink to act as luma mattes to reveal the various images of ice to make it look like the image was gradually freezing. I also added an old map of Antarctica in the background to give it an older feel and to convey the feeling of an epic journey.
